Salvo Vigali, an eccentric Italian who still can't speak English despite having lived in Florida for three years. Although he is a world-famous writer, instead of staying in a hotel, Salvo is wasting away in a shabby motel in Florida, waiting for someone. Longing for his hometown of Sicily, Salvo hires Ben, a rough-around-the-edges janitor he has just met, as his assistant and English teacher—simply because Ben speaks with the same accent as people back home... And so begins the unlikely relationship between an eccentric Italian writer and a delinquent cleaner who becomes his English tutor.
